Juan Mata: 'Manchester United supporters deserve more'

Juan Mata believes that Manchester United's supporters deserve to see better football played by their team.

Juan Mata has claimed that the Manchester United supporters deserve better than what they have seen this season.

A disappointing campaign was made worse on Tuesday night when United suffered a 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford, and Mata admits that the club's supporters should be treated to better football.

"For us, it is very important to have our confidence back and it is also very important to show the crowd, to show the fans, that we are giving them what they deserve," the Spaniard told The Mirror.

"They deserve more than they are getting. They deserve great football, they deserve to see wins, so we will try to do that – to win and to do that playing great football.

"But it is going to be tough because no game is easy these days."

United face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
