Jose Mourinho: 'I have turned down three job offers'

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says that he is happy to bide his time before returning to management, having turned down three jobs over the last month.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he has already rejected three job offers since being sacked as Manchester United manager a month ago.

The 55-year-old was given the shove by United's hierarchy on December 18 following the Red Devils' worst start to a season in 29 years.

United have not looked back since swapping Mourinho with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, winning their seventh game in a row on Saturday thanks to a 2-1 victory at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

While his former club have slowly got their campaign back on track, the Portuguese has been out in the Middle East working as a television pundit for the Asian Cup.

In his latest interview with beIN Sports, Mourinho hinted that he could return to management before the end of the season.

"I am happy with these three weeks, I am happy with this experience and I am going to have other experiences that normally I cannot have," he said. "But I know me, and I know by the end of March I will be struggling with my happiness.

"I will analyse things. I refuse already three options because I didn't feel it is what I want. I am going to be calm. The more time I have, the better I can prepare. The next must be something that makes me happy with a challenge."

Mourinho is reportedly Real Madrid's preferred choice to succeed Santiago Solari at the end of the season.
