David Moyes dismisses Rio Ferdinand reports

David Moyes describes reports about Rio Ferdinand being left out of a training trip to Dubai as "rubbish" and "complete nonsense".

David Moyes has described speculation that Rio Ferdinand has been left out of the Manchester United squad that will travel to Dubai on Thursday for a training camp as "complete nonsense".

The Sun claimed earlier today that Moyes had opted against including Ferdinand for the trip, which would in turn coincide with the 35-year-old confirming his retirement.

However, when asked about the report this afternoon, Moyes told reporters: "I can only tell you that what was written today was a load of rubbish, complete nonsense."

Ferdinand has made 13 appearances this season, but has not featured in the Premier League since late November.
