Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic wants career as manager

Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic reveals that he wants to begin a managerial career.

Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has revealed that he wants to embark on a managerial career following his retirement from professional football.

The Serbian announced in January that he was hanging up his boots following a 16-year spell in the game.

The 34-year-old joined United in 2006 following stints at Red Star Belgrade and Spartak Moscow, and spent eight years at Old Trafford, winning five Premier League titles, three League Cups and a Champions League trophy.

Vidic ended his career three months ago following a one-and-a-half-year spell at Inter.

"I would like to be a manager," Vidic told United's official website. "That's what I started preparing myself for a few years back. I would like to learn and visit some good managers and coaches and make the best of that for the next couple of years and after that try to find a club and start my new career."

Vidic made 298 appearances for United.
