Gary Neville slams Yaya Toure performance

Gary Neville is criticial of Yaya Toure's performance as Manchester City lose 4-2 to fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

England coach Gary Neville has slammed Yaya Toure for his performance in Manchester City's 4-2 loss to fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

The Ivorian failed to track a run from Juan Mata before the Spaniard made it 3-1 at Old Trafford, and former United defender Neville was disappointed with Toure's all-round display in the centre of midfield.

He told Sky Sports News: "As a central midfielder, he cannot do his job. Before the game, I asked 'is Yaya Toure able to match Marouane Fellaini in that pocket?'

"He didn't. He paid no attention to him at all. It was a complete dereliction of duty. At the moment, he simply cannot do his job [in midfield]."

Toure has recently been linked with a switch to Inter Milan this summer.
