Steven Pienaar: 'Everton must irritate Marouane Fellaini'

Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar hopes that Manchester United's Marouane Fellaini will be "irritated" on his return to Goodison Park.

Steven Pienaar has insisted that Everton must try to get Marouane Fellaini "irritated" when he returns to Goodison Park with Manchester United this weekend.

The former Toffees midfielder will face his former club when Louis van Gaal's side face Everton tomorrow, looking for their seventh win in eight outings in the league.

The midfielder told the Liverpool Echo: "I am very pleased for Felli because the way he started there was a lot of pressure on him but this season he is just enjoying his football and I am happy for him because he has got a real quality and to become a top player.

"He is showing it now and they are playing according to his strengths as well. But on the other side, he is coming to Goodison Park so I hope the supporters get into him because it can work in our favour because he can get irritated. And the guys know him well and know how to get on his nerves.

"As a player you go through setbacks and there was a lot of pressure on him but I think he dealt with it really well and this season he has played well, is scoring goals and showed he deserves to be where he is."

Fellaini joined United in 2013 shortly after manager David Moyes also moved to Old Trafford.
