Queens Park Rangers' chief executive Phil Beard accuses Manchester United winger Ashley Young of being a diver following the Hoops' 2-0 loss at Old Trafford.

Frustrated Queens Park Rangers chief executive Phil Beard has accused Manchester United winger Ashley Young of being a diver.

The 26-year-old went down under minimal contact from Shaun Derry in the 15th minute of the Red Devils' 2-0 win over the Hoops at Old Trafford.

Despite Young being in an offside position before he the received the ball, a penalty kick was awarded and Derry was shown a straight red card for a professional foul.

Using Twitter, Beard said: "Difficult to take after watching numerous replays but Ashley Young could partner Tom Daley at the Olympics."

QPR boss Mark Hughes has revealed that the club will appeal the red card, while United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that he can understand the Hoops' frustration.
