Wayne Rooney reveals desire to manage

Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney reveals that he wants to step into management once he has retired as a player.

Wayne Rooney has revealed that he wants to move into management once he has retired as a player.

The Manchester United captain held a live Q&A on Facebook on Sunday afternoon and a whole host of questions were put to the 30-year-old, who is currently in Beijing with the Red Devils on a pre-season tour.

Rooney is already 'in the process of taking his coaching badges' and has seemingly ruled out a career in the media by claiming that his future is in football management.

"I would like to be manager when I finish playing. Football is what I've done my whole life. I'm currently in the process of taking my coaching badges so hopefully when I finish playing I'll have that complete," said Rooney.

The England skipper could be involved in Man United's pre-season friendly with rivals Manchester City on Monday.
