Danny Welbeck has insisted that joining Arsenal from Manchester United is the "right decision" for his career.
The England international forward moved to the Gunners on transfer deadline day following a 13-year association with United.
Despite there being some surprise over his switch to the Emirates Stadium, Welbeck is convinced that playing for Arsene Wenger will help to enhance his game.
"I've been at United ever since I was a little boy and I had a great time there. I just think this is the next stage of my development - to come to Arsenal, to really show people what I can do as a footballer and hopefully get to the place where I want to be," he told his new club's official website.
"Things move on in life and I think you've really got to make the right decision in the situation that you're in at that moment in time. I really do believe that coming to Arsenal is the right decision."
Arsenal continue their Premier League campaign on September 13 when they entertain champions Manchester City.
