Pepe Mel: "We had a lot of bad luck"

Wes Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel believes that his side had a "lot" of bad luck in their defeat to Manchester United at The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel believes that his side were unfortunate in their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies' relegation worries were increased as goals from Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck condemned them to the loss, while Mel believes that the failure of referee Jonathan Moss to send off Robin van Persie was huge.

He told the club's official website: "I think we had a lot of bad luck today. We had to make three changes, all because of injury.

"The fact that Robin van Persie did not get a second yellow card for his foul was also a big moment in the match."

West Brom remain in 17th place in the Premier League following the defeat.
