Atletico Madrid have reportedly braced themselves for a bid from Manchester United for midfielder Marcos Llorente, but the Spanish giants are keen to keep hold of the Spaniard.
The 26-year-old has been an integral member of Diego Simeone's side this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists in 43 appearances for the club this season.
Llorente's performances have helped Atletico come within touching distance of their first La Liga title since 2014, as they currently sit four points clear of Barcelona in second with two games to play.
The Mirror reports that Man United are preparing a £68m bid for Llorente as the Premier League outfit look to strengthen their squad to challenge for the league title next season.
The Spain international's current contract runs until 2024, however Atletico's CEO Miguel Angel Gil has met with Llorente's agent multiple times recently and he has intensified negotiations in the hope of warding off interest from the Red Devils.
Llorente made the move across Madrid to join Atletico from Real Madrid in 2019 and he has gone on to make 79 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing 17 assists during his spell with Los Rojiblancos.
