Chelsea enter Toni Kroos race?

A report claims that Chelsea may try to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos on a free transfer next year.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly been alerted by Toni Kroos's ongoing contract dispute at Bayern Munich.

The midfielder, who has 12 months left to run on his current deal at the Allianz Arena, has been heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United over recent months.

Kroos has since insisted that he would not be joining Louis van Gaal's team, but he stopped short of committing his future to Bayern beyond the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

As a result, Mourinho has identified the 24-year-old as a potential free transfer arrival at the end of next season, according to the Daily Mail.

If Kroos does not agree fresh terms with Bayern before January 2015, he will be free to open up negotiations with other clubs.
