Report: Nathaniel Clyne holding out for Manchester United move

A report claims that in-demand full-back Nathaniel Clyne has his heart set on a switch from Southampton to Manchester United this summer.

Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne will reportedly turn down any approach by Chelsea in order to hold out for a move to Manchester United this summer.

The England international, who is under contract at St Mary's until 2016, was yesterday given a 10-day deadline by Saints boss Ronald Koeman to make a decision over his future.

Clyne looks destined to leave at the end of the season, and the Daily Star claims that United currently lead the race to sign the £25m-rated defender.

A source close to the 24-year-old told the newspaper: "[Clyne] has made it known that United are his first choice, the deal is not done yet but it is a clear indication of his thinking."

Southampton executive director Les Reed insisted earlier this week that he was confident Clyne would agree new terms at the club, but talks are said to have stalled over the past couple of days.
