Cristiano Ronaldo is becoming increasingly concerned by Manchester United's transfer strategy, according to a report.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly becoming increasingly concerned by Manchester United's transfer strategy, with the Red Devils off to a slow start in the market.

Man United finished sixth in last season's Premier League table, meaning that they will compete in the Europa League next term, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur claiming the top four spots.

Man City and Liverpool have boosted their squads with the signings of Erling Braut Haaland and Darwin Nunez respectively, while Tottenham have added Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.

Man United continue to be linked with a number of players, but the club are yet to make a first-team signing, with deals for Frenkie de Jong, Christian Eriksen and Antony up in the air.

According to AS, Ronaldo is becoming concerned that his side's rivals are pulling further clear ahead of the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

The report claims that the Portugal international is 'worried' that the 20-time English champions have not been able to boost their squad following a disappointing 2021-22 season.

Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford has recently been called into question, but the 37-year-old has allegedly made the decision to spend at least one more season with the Red Devils.

The forward has given Man United the green light to sign another striker this summer, with Roma's Tammy Abraham and Porto's Evanilson both being linked with switches to Old Trafford.

However, the club are currently believed to be prioritising deals for Ajax attacker Antony and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils are also keen to sign a new centre-back this summer, while a new goalkeeper will arrive if Dean Henderson completes a move to Nottingham Forest.

Five new signings could reportedly arrive at Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window, with the club's budget believed to be in the region of £130m despite their failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Ten Hag is currently preparing for the start of pre-season training on Monday, although the players involved for their countries during the recent international break will not report for duty until next month.

Man United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia will see them take on Liverpool, Melbourne Victory, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, before returning to Europe to face Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.

The 20-time English champions will then begin their 2022-23 Premier League campaign at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on August 7, while they will also face Brentford, Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester City before the end of next month.
