Chelsea and Manchester United have missed out on the signing of Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule to Borussia Dortmund.
With Sule known to be leaving the Allianz Arena on a free transfer in the summer, a number of top European clubs have been heavily linked with the Germany international.
Over the weekend, the 26-year-old's agent suggested that he had already decided which club to join at the end of the season.
Frankfurter Rundschau claimed that Dortmund had won the race for Sule's signature, beating the Blues and United in the process.
The Bundesliga outfit have since confirmed that a deal has been struck with Sule, who will pen a four-year contract at the Westfalenstadion.
Sule will represent his third German club having already made a combined total of 275 appearances for Hoffenheim and Bayern.
