Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he is eager for Nani to sign a new contract at the club.
The 26-year-old Portuguese international, whose current deal expires at the end of next season, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent months.
"We want to keep him, there's no doubt about that," Ferguson told United's official website.
"David Gill's been speaking to his agent for quite a few weeks. It's entirely up to the boy - he has a year-and-a-half left.
"I think he wants guaranteed first-team football. He can guarantee himself that. We're trying our best to keep him because he's such a match winner."
Nani joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 for €25.5m (£22m).
