Darren Fletcher's Manchester United career could potentially end during an Under-21 encounter against Liverpool this evening.
The Scot, who made his Red Devils debut during the 2002-03 campaign, has struggled for regular action since his battle with ulcerative colitis, which was revealed in 2011.
He has been limited to just four Premier League starts this season, with manager Louis van Gaal often preferring the likes of Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney in the centre of midfield.
His lack of matches has resulted in reports linking him with a move away from Old Trafford, with West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion said to be particularly keen on the 30-year-old's services.
It has been suggested that the Hammers are favourites for his signature, but he is still expected to turn out for United's development side tonight before any deal is finalised.
To date, five-time Premier League winner Fletcher has made 342 appearances for United, from which he has scored 24 goals.
