Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann is holding out for Barcelona to pay his £87m release clause in January, according to a report.
The 26-year-old revealed in the summer that he was close to joining Manchester United, only to pen a new contract at the Wanda Metropolitano after Atleti were hit with a transfer ban.
Domestic rivals Barca have also been sniffing around for the past few months, with The Sun reporting that Griezmann would prefer to remain in La Liga, rather than trying his luck in English football.
Griezmann is said to have already agreed personal terms with the Catalan giants on an informal basis, but he wants to bring his move forward by five months as he fears that they may instead look elsewhere in the summer.
Former Real Sociedad ace Griezmann revealed in his new book that he will not rule out the prospect of joining Man United in the future.
