Juventus were prepared to offer Mason Greenwood a lucrative contract to leave Manchester United in favour of Italy, according to a report.

Juventus were reportedly prepared to offer Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood a 'life-changing amount of money' to move to Italy.

The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting young prospects in the English game and can boast 15 goals and five assists across all competitions for United this term.

However, the story could have been a lot different for Greenwood, as The Athletic claims that Juventus were weighing up an approach for the teenager last year.

The Old Lady were supposedly prepared to offer Greenwood a lucrative contract in order to prise him away from Old Trafford, but United were able to persuade the youngster to stay put and continue to fulfil his potential in the Premier League.

The forward still has another three years to run on his current United deal and has made Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting XI in United's last three Premier League fixtures.

The Red Devils continue their charge for a top-four finish when they face Aston Villa on Thursday evening.
