Kenny Jackett: 'Manchester United striker James Wilson not available'

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett says that Manchester United teenager James Wilson is not available for loan, despite reports to the contrary.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has revealed that Manchester United youngster James Wilson is not available for loan at the moment.

A number of Championship clubs are said to have expressed an interest in temporarily signing the 19-year-old as first-team chances are likely to be limited following the £36m arrival of Anthony Martial earlier this month.

Wolves, Derby County, Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers are four of the clubs to have been linked with the striker, but Jackett revealed today that United are keen to keep him for the time being, despite reports to the contrary.

"The information is he's not available," Jackett told PA. "They're keeping him there for the time being.

"There's been a number of clubs who have enquired about him and at one stage they'd been saying perhaps he could go. The timing of it is always something and if he was available would there be some interest from us? There has been in the past, yes."

Wolves are thought to be interested in signing a forward after losing Nouha Dicko for the season to a serious knee injury. However, Jackett said that he might not need to dip into the loan market.

"You are always looking to strengthen, you're always aware of centre forwards if we did get an injury at the moment," he added. "But, having said that, both (Rajiv) Van La Parra and young Bright (Enobakhare) have looked very good. I wouldn't hesitate to give them an opportunity if I thought it was necessary."

Jackett also revealed that he is not interested in signing Crystal Palace's Fraizer Campbell.
