Report: Augsburg left-back Philipp Max on radar of Premier League giants

Augsburg left-back Philipp Max is believed to be a transfer target for Premier League giants Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Augsburg left-back Philipp Max has emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

The 24-year-old won a silver medal as part of Germany's 2016 Olympic squad and has caught the eye of scouts due to his impressive displays in the Bundesliga this season.

Ausburg currently sit eighth in the table - level on points with Borussia Dortmund - and Max, who currently tops the Bundesliga's assist charts with seven despite playing in defence, has played a big role in their superb start to the season.

According to the Daily Mail, Max has been tracked by the three Premier League giants as they bid to strengthen their squads in January, while Everton are also reported to have sent scouts to monitor the player.

Max, who remains uncapped for the German senior team, extended his Augsburg contract until 2022 earlier this year.
