Manchester United are allegedly considering making an attempt to re-sign Jonny Evans from Leicester City during the January transfer window.
The Northern Ireland international made 198 appearances for the Red Devils between 2006 and 2015 before joining West Bromwich Albion, where he spent three seasons ahead of a switch to Leicester.
Evans has developed into one of his current side's most important players, but the centre-back's existing deal is due to expire next summer, and the two parties are yet to agree to an extension.
According to The Sun, United are 'keeping a close eye' on the developments surrounding the 32-year-old ahead of a potential move in the winter transfer window.
The report claims that Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of Evans and is keen to bring a new left-sided centre-back to Old Trafford in the middle of the campaign.
The Northern Irishman won three Premier League titles during his time at United.
