Manchester United have reportedly seen an offer of €30m (£25.5m) for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly rejected by the Italian giants.
The Red Devils are on the verge of completing a deal for Raphael Varane, but there have been suggestions that the club are keen to add another central defender before this summer's transfer window closes.
Koulibaly is thought to be available for a cut-price fee in the current market, as Napoli are struggling financially due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
According to journalist Carlo Nesti, Man United recently approached the Serie A outfit with a €30m (£25.5m) offer, but it was quickly rejected by Gil Azzurri president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Nesti claims that Koulibaly has made it clear to his club that he would be interested in joining the 20-time English champions in the coming weeks.
The 30-year-old, thought to once be valued by Napoli in the region of £100m, only has two years left to run on his current deal in Italy.
