Manchester United have reportedly launched a £52.8m bid for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
United boss Jose Mourinho is believed to have personally scouted 20-year-old centre-back Milenkovic during Serbia's UEFA Nations League clash with Montenegro on Thursday.
According to La Nazione, Mourinho was impressed with what he saw from the eight-time international, and United have now made an offer of £52.8m in a bid to sign him during the January transfer window.
Milenkovic joined Fiorentina from Partizan in May 2017, and has impressed since his arrival in Serie A.
United were frustrated in their pursuit of a number of centre-backs during the summer, with Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld two players strongly linked with switches to Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions will look to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they travel to Chelsea next weekend.
