Manchester United are reportedly at the head of the queue for in-demand Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi.

Manchester United have reportedly moved to the head of the queue for Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi.

The Germany international's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with a number of clubs, including Chelsea, believed to be keen to sign him during this summer's transfer window.

Adeyemi is said to have been one of the attackers that Chelsea looked at during the January market, while Napoli are also believed to have expressed an interest, but the 23-year-old ultimately remained with BVB.

According to Fichajes, the forward is likely to be on the move at the end of the season, and Man United are currently seen as the favourites to secure his services.

The report claims that Adeyemi 'fits the profile' in terms of the attacker that the Red Devils want to sign, but Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation.

Dortmund have allegedly signalled that they would be looking for around €60m (£50m) for Adeyemi, who has been in strong form for his German club during the 2024-25 campaign.

The forward has eight goals and five assists in 23 appearances in all competitions this term, including five goals and one assist in seven outings in the Champions League.

Adeyemi made the move to BVB from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2022, and his overall record for Dortmund is 22 goals and 13 assists in 89 appearances, including 12 goals and 10 assists in 60 Bundesliga fixtures.

Would Adeyemi be a good signing for Man United?

Man United need to bring in a new centre-forward this summer, but they also have an emerging talent in the shape of Chido Obi, who has now featured on three occasions for the first team.

Obi made a huge impression off the bench against Fulham in the FA Cup last time out, and the ex-Arsenal youngster is expected to be a vital part of Man United's first-team plans for the rest of the season and into the 2025-26 campaign.

Adeyemi could thrive alongside Obi, potentially as the right-sided number 10, where his pace, power and dribbling qualities would provide Man United with a new dimension.

Marcus Rashford and Antony, who are currently on loan at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively, could both leave the Red Devils on permanent deals this summer, opening the door for a wide forward to arrive.

It is set to be a busy summer transfer window for Man United, but the club do need to move a number of players on due to their financial problems, and a season out of Europe entirely would be very damaging to their finances.
