Manchester United 'put £40m price tag on Dean Henderson'

Manchester United reportedly slap a £40m price tag on the head of goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who is growing increasingly frustrated at his situation at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have reportedly slapped a £40m price tag on the head of second-choice goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

The 23-year-old has so far been unable to displace David de Gea as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's number one, and he is understood to be growing frustrated at the situation.

Henderson has been restricted to a mere 12 appearances in all competitions this term - including just two starts in the Premier League - and he is being linked with a move to another European-challenging side amid his lack of game time.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Henderson will attempt to force an exit if his situation does not improve, and United will allow him to head elsewhere if they receive a fee of £40m.

The former Sheffield United loanee has reportedly garnered interest from several top-flight clubs despite playing second fiddle to De Gea, with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund all believed to be monitoring the situation.

Henderson, who is under contract at Old Trafford until 2025, is expected to start on Thursday evening when United take on Real Sociedad in the second leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.
