Manchester United to move for Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor?

Following Luke Shaw's double leg break, Manchester United will reportedly make a January move for Leeds United's left-back Charlie Taylor.

Manchester United have reportedly plotted a January move for Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor.

It is believed that Louis van Gaal, who has sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action on numerous occasions, had planned to make a bid for the youngster next summer.

However, following confirmation that Luke Shaw will be sidelined for around six months with the double leg break that he suffered in Eindhoven last night, Van Gaal has decided to accelerate his interest in the Leeds defender, according to the Daily Star.

The report adds that the Red Devils intend to test the Championship side's resolve with a £4m bid for Taylor, who is regarded highly by the coaching staff at Elland Road.

Currently, Van Gaal has Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, both of whom can fill the void left by the stricken Shaw, while right-back Matteo Darmian can also operate on the opposite flank.
