Manchester United could reportedly turn their attention to Torino striker Andrea Belotti in their search for a new centre-forward.
The Red Devils are being heavily linked with big-money moves for Erling Braut Haaland and Harry Kane this summer, although both number nines would not be expected to leave Borussia Dortmund or Tottenham Hotspur for less than £100m.
With clubs across the globe still reeling from the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic, Chelsea - also believed to be in the race for Haaland - have supposedly earmarked Belotti as a cheaper alternative.
Now, Tuttosport claims that Man United are ready to rival Chelsea for Belotti's signature, and Torino are prepared to accept a fee around the €25m (£21m) mark despite his €100m (£86.5m) release clause.
The 27-year-old's current deal with Torino expires in 2022, so the club would be expected to let him leave this summer rather than walk away for free in a year's time, and the report adds that fellow Serie A clubs Napoli, Roma and Fiorentina are all keeping a close eye on the situation.
Belotti has scored 12 goals and set up six more for Torino in the 2020-21 Serie A campaign.
