Manchester United are reportedly lining up a summer move for RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano.
The centre-back is widely expected to leave his German club during this summer's transfer window, and a number of top-level European sides are believed to be in the hunt for his signature.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have both recently been credited with an interest, while both Manchester City and Chelsea are thought to be firmly in the hunt for the Frenchman.
However, according to France Football, United are preparing to battle their Premier League rivals for the 21-year-old, who is understood to have a €60m (£53m) release clause in his current deal.
The report claims that the Red Devils could sign Upamecano for as little as €40m (£35m) this summer, making him a cheaper alternative to Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.
The centre-back has made 29 appearances for Leipzig during the current season.
