Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria is reportedly unlikely to move to Manchester United during the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old's contract with Monchengladbach is due to expire at the end of June, and he will not be signing an extension at Borussia-Park.
Man United have been strongly linked with the Switzerland international amid suggestions that he is available for around £6m during the winter transfer window.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, the 20-time English champions are unlikely to sign the central midfielder this month.
The report also claims that there has been no contact between the two parties despite claims that Man United had approached Zakaria's representatives in the hope of agreeing a pre-contract.
Red Devils interim head coach Ralf Rangnick is said to be an admirer of the Swiss, who is also believed to be wanted by a number of other leading European clubs.
