Manchester United want Lautaro Martinez in January?

Manchester United eye a January move for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a January swoop for Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.

Anthony Martial's return from injury has eased United's problems in the final third of the field, but the Red Devils are still believed to be in the market for a new striker.

Indeed, both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez were allowed to leave Old Trafford over the summer without replacements arriving, and Marcus Rashford struggled to carry the goalscoring burden in Martial's absence.

Barcelona have been strongly linked with a move for Martinez, but it was reported last week that United were also interested in a swoop for the Argentina international.

According to Clarin, the Red Devils are now eyeing a January move for the 22-year-old, who has scored seven times in 13 appearances for Antonio Conte's side at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Martinez is said to have a £173m release clause in his contract with I Nerazzurri.
