Manchester United could reportedly be pondering a double swoop for Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa and Filipe Luis.

The North-West outfit are said to be keen on bringing more new faces to Old Trafford following the acquisition of Juan Mata from Chelsea for a club-record fee of £37.1m.

According to the Daily Mail, United sent scouts to watch Costa and Luis in Atletico's 4-2 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Costa has netted 19 goals so far this season, which has placed him second to Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the scoring charts in La Liga.

It had been claimed over the weekend that United's rivals Chelsea have a verbal agreement with the Spanish outfit to sign Costa.
