Manchester United, Liverpool interested in Thomas Muller?

Manchester United and Liverpool reportedly plan to do battle for Thomas Muller over the January transfer window.

Manchester United and Liverpool will reportedly do battle for the signature of Thomas Muller over the January transfer window.

The German has been reduced to appearing primarily off the bench this season, with new loan signing Philippe Coutinho moving ahead of him in the attacking pecking order.

Reports have suggested that Muller, frustrated with a lack of playing time, will seek a move away from the Allianz Arena in January.

According to The Mirror, both United and Liverpool will look to take advantage of the striker's situation when the window opens.

United are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements following a summer which saw them dispense with and fail to replace attacking duo Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have a pre-existing interest in Muller, with Jurgen Klopp reportedly making an unsuccessful attempt to sign him in 2017.
