Manchester United have reportedly made Bayer Leverkusen teenage midfielder Florian Wirtz their next big transfer target for the upcoming January transfer window.
The 18-year-old German international has been in excellent form for Leverkusen so far this campaign, registering five goals and eight assists in 15 Bundesliga appearances to help his side occupy fourth spot in the table.
Following his breakout year in the 2020-21 campaign, when Wirtz made his debut shortly after turning 17, the youngster has gone on to become one of the highly sought-after teenagers across Europe.
However, according to The Sun, Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick has made Wirtz his number one transfer target ahead of the winter transfer window, which opens on January 1.
The report states how RB Leipzig's Amadou Haidara and Marseille's Boubacar Kamara are also targets, but with Rangnick now at the helm, he has made it clear of his desire to lure Wirtz to Old Trafford.
Although, with Wirtz's contract not expiring until 2026, Leverkusen's position is a strong one should United look to follow up their interest with an offer.
