Manchester United will reportedly have to pay both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund if they are to clinch the signature of Robert Lewandowski.

Manchester United will reportedly have to pay Bayern Munich compensation in order to clinch the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund.

It is believed that the Poland international struck an agreement with Bayern last summer to join the Bundesliga champions at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.

Despite his promise, Dortmund are said to be adamant that Lewandowski will not join their German rivals this summer following Mario Gotze's departure to the Allianz Arena.

Due to this, United would have to pay compensation to Bayern as well as a reported £25.5m fee to Dortmund in order to secure Lewandowski's signature, according to the Daily Star.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his current contract with Dortmund.
