Manchester United 'unlikely' to secure more signings before deadline

Manchester United manager David Moyes suggests that the club will not be making any more signings before Friday's transfer deadline.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has suggested that the club have finished their spending in the January transfer window.

Widespread reports have claimed that the Scotsman has plenty of funds available for new talent following the club's failure to land their major targets last summer.

The Red Devils have been linked to numerous names around Europe after acquiring the signature of Juan Mata from Chelsea for a club-record fee of around £37m.

However, Moyes has hinted that he will be seeing out the second half of the season with the team he already has.

When asked in a press conference whether any additional new faces would be coming to Old Trafford, Moyes said: "I would say no. I have said no, I don't think I will, but if something happens I will soon let you know."

Mata played a part in both goals in United's victory over Cardiff City at Old Trafford last night.
