Manchester United won't rush contract talks with Wayne Rooney

Manchester United manager David Moyes says that the club are in no hurry to agree a new contract with striker Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that the club are not rushing to tie striker Wayne Rooney down to a new contract.

The England international, who was linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer window, will come to the end of his current deal in 18 months' time.

"When will we talk to him about the contract? I don't really know," Sky Sports News quotes Moyes as saying.

"I think we are fine. We are just moving on from the summer. It will be done in good course. The appropriate people will talk when the time is right."

The 28-year-old netted a brace in yesterday's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
