Manchester United have started talks to sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to a report.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to bolster his midfield this summer and feels that the Portuguese international would be the perfect fit, particularly as he would be able to link up with compatriot Bruno Fernandes.
The Red Devils are keen to bring in some fresh blood in the middle of the park as Nemanja Matic turns 33 next month, while concerns have been raised over the performances of Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Fred in recent seasons.
Eurosport claims that Neves is towards the top of Man United's list of potential reinforcements, and that talks over a move to Old Trafford have already begun.
Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Neves, with the Gunners reportedly weighing up a £35m bid.
The 24-year-old has been a first-team regular since arriving at Molineux four years ago, helping Wolves win promotion to the Premier League in his debut season before establishing himself in the Premier League.
Neves featured in one of Portugal's Euro 2020 games this summer, coming off the bench against France in the group stage.
