Anthony Martial is likely to leave Manchester United in the near future following Cristiano Ronaldo's return, according to a report.

Anthony Martial's days at Manchester United are reportedly 'numbered', with the France international expected to leave Old Trafford following Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the club.

The 25-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from the Red Devils during the summer, but the transfer window closed with the former Monaco youngster remaining in Manchester.

Man United moved to re-sign Ronaldo late in the window, though, and according to The Mirror, Martial could be on his way out of the club in the near future.

The report claims that club owner Joel Glazer had been a huge supporter of the Frenchman, but Ronaldo's arrival has pushed the attacker down the pecking order when it comes to a starting spot.

Martial, who still has three years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, has scored 78 times and registered 50 assists in 261 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

The France international is yet to score or register an assist in three Premier League outings for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side this term.
