Manchester United 'could veto Jose Mourinho's January plans'

Manchester United could block Jose Mourinho's attempts to sign new players in January, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly block Jose Mourinho's attempts to sign new players in January, should they disagree with the targets that the Portuguese identifies.

Mourinho was desperate to bring a new central defender to United during the summer, but the club are believed to have refused to sanction a move due to a perceived lack of value in the market.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Mourinho has £100m to spend in January and is determined to sign both a new centre-back and a new centre-forward.

However, according to ESPN, United chiefs will veto Mourinho's targets for a second transfer window in a row if they believe that the club will suffer in the long term.

United will attempt to record a second successive Premier League win when they make the trip to in-form Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
