Nani: 'I'm still wanted at Manchester United'

Manchester United winger Nani insists that he is still wanted at Old Trafford despite his loan move to Sporting Lisbon last summer.

Manchester United winger Nani has insisted that he is still wanted at the club despite being loaned out to Sporting Lisbon this season.

The Portuguese international was involved in a move that saw defender Marcos Rojo move to Old Trafford last summer, with Nani now suggesting that he plans on making a return to the club having made the choice to depart of his own accord.

"The club know my value and I know they want me to stay," said Nani, according to The Mirror.

"It was me who made the choice to leave the club and it was a good decision by me because I knew if I stayed one more season at Old Trafford, it would be very hard for me. I just need someone to believe in me, trust me and my qualities, and give me an opportunity to show them on the pitch.

"It's an experience I wanted a lot and needed as well because the last two seasons at Manchester United I had so many injuries and I was very upset with a lot of things that happened to me."

United currently hold fourth position in the Premier League table under new coach Louis van Gaal.
