Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic will not be moving to Manchester United as his family have reportedly ruled out a move to England.

Ivan Rakitic will not be moving to Manchester United as his family have ruled out a move to England, according to a report.

The Barcelona midfielder has lost his place in the starting lineup this season, with head coach Ernesto Valverde preferring a trio of Frenkie de Jong, Arthur Melo and Sergio Busquets.

As a result, the Red Devils were keen to make a move for the Croatian, but it appears his family are not keen on the idea of moving to England.

According to the Daily Mail, weather is an important factor for them and they would prefer a move to France or Italy, with Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Juventus all previously linked with the 31-year-old.

United have alternative midfield targets in the form of Saul Niguez and James Maddison, among others, and will now likely turn their attention to them.
