Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal 'in principle' for Benfica centre-back Ezequiel Garay.
The Premier League champions have long been known to be interested in the 26-year-old, but the two clubs were believed to be haggling over the fee.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils have now been granted permission to talk to the Argentine international after tabling a bid of £17m.
Garay, who has 13 caps for his country, has revived his career since moving to the Estadio da Luz from Real Madrid two years ago.
His three years as a Los Blancos player included one season on loan at his former club Racing Santander.
