Harry Redknapp believes that David Moyes will succeed at Manchester United as he is similar to former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is confident that David Moyes will be a success at Manchester United as he shares the attributes of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The former Everton boss will officially begin his role at Old Trafford on July 1 following Ferguson's decision to retire at the end of the season.

"[Moyes is] a bit like Fergie in lots of ways," the Manchester Evening News quotes Redknapp as saying. "He's very dedicated to the job and he knows what he wants. I'm sure he'll get it there. He'll change things round, I'm sure.

"He's bringing his own staff in and I think he'll make one or two other changes. I'm sure he'll sign a few players to put his stamp on the team and I'm sure he'll be a big success."

United have acquired Uruguayan defender Guillermo Varela on a five-year contract.
