Report: Napoli's Marouane Fellaini pursuit stalls

Napoli reportedly consider withdrawing their approach for Marouane Fellaini upon learning Manchester United's asking price.

Napoli have reportedly stalled their move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

A recent report had suggested that discussions had already taken place between the two clubs regarding the Belgium international's availability.

However, United's asking price of £13m is beyond Napoli's valuation of the 26-year-old, which could see head coach Rafael Benitez move on to other targets, according to Goal.com.

It has been further claimed that the Serie A outfit would be keen to sign Fellaini on a season-long loan basis, but United would only consider that proposal if their Italian counterparts were prepared to pay his wages in full.

Fellaini joined United last summer from Everton for £27.5m.
