Cristiano Ronaldo believes that the Premier League is better than La Liga, fuelling rumours that he may leave the club.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo believes that the Premier League is "more competitive" than La Liga.

Reports in the media have claimed that the Portuguese player is unhappy with the situation at the Bernabeu.

These reports have also linked the former Ballon d'Or winner with a move to either his former club Manchester United or their local rivals Manchester City.

"The Premier League and Spanish Liga are the two best leagues," said Ronaldo.

"But I'll be very honest - the English league is more competitive.

"The Spanish Liga is competitive, but not as much as the Premier League."

Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Manchester United for £80m in 2009.
