Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had a bid for midfielder Franck Kessie rejected by AC Milan.
The 25-year-old is now free to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs as his current deal at San Siro is set to expire in June.
Spurs are believed to be one of several clubs across Europe who are keen to sign Kessie, with one report claiming that they are prepared to table a cash offer this month to fend off interest from elsewhere.
However, Italian journalist Marco Conterio claims that Spurs have seen an offer knocked back by Milan, and it remains to be seen whether they will make an improved bid.
Kessie is believed to be keeping his options open, and is willing to see out the rest of the current campaign with the Serie A title challengers.
The Ivory Coast international, who has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, has made 205 appearances for Milan across all competitions, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists.
