Three goalkeepers to leave Manchester United this summer?

Manchester United are reportedly looking to offload at least three goalkeepers at the end of this season.

Manchester United are reportedly looking to offload at least three goalkeepers at the end of this season.

The Red Devils currently have five goalkeepers in their first-team squad, with David de Gea and Dean Henderson the only stoppers who have any realistic chance of playing.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira and Lee Grant are all expected to leave the club as United have no intention of triggering the one-year extensions in their contracts.

Romero, who was unable to engineer a transfer in either of the last two windows, has yet to make a senior appearance all season and is now considered surplus to requirements.

Pereira, 24, has not played for United in more than three years and is currently on loan at Huddersfield Town, although he has only featured once for the Championship outfit since joining in August.

Grant is out of contract in June and is unlikely to have his playing contract extended, however the 38-year-old could stay on at Old Trafford in a coaching capacity as that was touted as part of the negotiations when he joined the club from Stoke City back in 2018.

United are currently forking out more than £600,000 a week in wages on goalkeepers, with De Gea the club's highest earner on around £300,000 a week, while Henderson is now receiving £100,000 a week after signing a new five-year contract in August.
