Manchester United to pay Marcus Rashford £350k a week?

Marcus Rashford is holding out for a £350,000-a-week contract offer from Manchester United before committing to the club, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly accepted that they may have to offer Marcus Rashford £350,000 a week to persuade him to sign a new contract.

The England international is about to enter the final 12 months of his existing deal and he remains locked in talks with the Red Devils over fresh terms.

Rashford established himself as first-choice striker under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the second half of last season, but he has so far been reluctant to put pen to paper.

According to The Sun, the academy product is eager to stay but he is playing hardball with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward as he knows he can increase his wages.

That is said to come down to the fact that flop forward Alexis Sanchez has been paid £505,000 a week since joining from Arsenal in January 2019.

A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Marcus is United through and through and doesn't want to leave.

"Lots of footballers sign deals on the basis of not only what their worth is now but what they will be worth in one, two or three years.

"He's happy under Ole and has cemented his role as the main striker but if Sanchez can get £505,000 a week, then Marcus knows the money is there."

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both rumoured to have made an approach for Rashford over the past year.
