Marseille have reportedly terminated the contract of defender Adil Rami after the defender missed training and was later seen appearing on a French gameshow.

The World Cup winner, who joined Marseille in 2017, was initially suspended by the club for failing to turn up for training last month.

Rami was instead seen appearing on French game show Fort Boyard, during which the defender dived around in some gooey substance, despite still struggling with a knock.

According to The Sun, Marseille have been left furious with this lack of professionalism and told Rami's representatives that his contract had consequently been terminated.

The 33-year-old is said to have cited personal reasons for his failure to return for pre-season, with the Frenchman recently enduring a very public breakup with TV star Pamela Anderson.

Rami retired from playing for France after being part of the nation's triumphant 2018 World Cup campaign, during which he did not make a single appearance.
